Ana Rita’s project Três Horas de Peneira involved three hours of collecting plastic and microplastics from Costa da Caparica, Portugal, in 2015. The collected materials became the foundation for various sculptures and are part of a collection of photographic material used to compose new works, such as Plastic Scans and Another World is Possible. The act of sifting for microplastics not only creates a physical collection for artistic use but also highlights environmental concerns related to ocean pollution. This footage and physical material blend artistic expression with ecological awareness.
