It sounds my nature

It Sounds my nature, sound, 8:47, Berlin, 2011

It sounds my nature was made with children from different cultural backgrounds at Comenius-Garten in Neukölln, Berlin. These children represent the area’s multicultural community. Kids from Palestine, Iran, Turkey, and Kurdistan shared songs from their different cultures. They recorded these songs while interacting with nature in the garden, like leaves, water, trees, and flowers, and also made sounds with their bodies, like breathing, clapping, and moving their feet. This helped them connect with the diversity of their cultures and the natural world, raising their awareness of how important both cultural and natural diversity are. The recorded sounds created a piece of music for an installation at Tempelhof Airport. A target was woven with plants around the Tempelhof Airport and installed in relation with a tree. a viewing station where visitors can look at the plants target through a monocle and listen to the sound composition.
