Ana Ritovski created Batuko Xabeta Variações. This sound piece was made for the project O que pisamos, Mudjeres di Mondon by Ana Trincão. The sound is composed with different rhythms of Batuko used by the “batucadeiras” of Cape Verde, Rythms such as Panpan, Galion, and Repicado are combined in various constellations in a peak movement that intensifies until reaching the Xabeta, the ecstatic moment of Batuko, and slowly goes out of it.
